Hey all, I had previously wanted to record my guitar playing and sync to a video of said playing, with a view to being able to do demo clips, maybe clips of my band etc etc.  But when I tried it always drifted, like the video (or music) was playing back at a slightly different speed to that at which it was recorded, causing sync problems as the track played through (in sync at start and gradually drifting further & further out).

Well I don't know what happened, but I tried it again like a year later after I have upgraded to V6 and what do you know, it syns properly!!!  Don't know why but I'm hoping it stays this way!!  Here's a snippet of the example I did (audio recorded in n-track v6, video done in windows moviemaker).

I wouldn't think so - I just wondered if the difference may have been a slightly under-powered system before.

Hhmm!? I tried for months to synch a track to WMM with 5 Win systems without any luck. Maybe find a way to roll-back your setup to how it was when it worked.

No, it IS working now and wasn't working before. Not sure what I changed that fixed it but fingers crossed it stays this way...  :-)

Sorry, MONSTA, not paying attention.

Cool. Is the vid a straight run, or are there edits? I'm asking for selfish reasons - every time I paused to edit, the track would lag behind the vid when resumed. Using different systems had no effect.
Is it down to the blaster, then? Although, my initial attempts were on a good machine with ECHO MIA midi 24bit card.

hey update on this, when we (Varia) were recording vocals for the When We Were in Love song (see my other post) in the studio, the guy there noticed I had recorded it at 48kHz.  He said, no real point doing other than 41.1kHz or whatever it is, and that 48kHz was "FOR VIDEO SOUND RECORDING".  I think because when I updated to N6 or whatever I am using I left it at 48kHZ and this might be why the recording and video is now in sync.  Something to keep in mind...
